Speech

Since I was in high school I knew that I wanted to study something related with English, that is how I choose to study translation. At first, I was very happy because I felt that I was really good at translation, but later, I started to feel that I was not that good. I felt frustrated because maybe I was studying something I was not good at. Then, I realized that if tried harder I was going to get good results. Now, I feel scared because there is one month left to leave university and I do not feel prepared to face up the working field, but I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who feels that way.

Trough this four years I learned many things. First, I learned that always is someone better than you. Second, I learned not to trust anyone because there is bad people everywhere. Finally, I learned how to do team work. I know this three important things are going to be useful for me during my life. But learning all this things wouldn’t be possible without my teachers. They were very crucial during this process. My teachers were always willing to help me when I asked them. Although, many of them always were yelling at us because we forgot to bring the homework, or we seemed to be distracted and lazy, I appreciate their yells because it shows that they care about us, and they make you the best teachers ever. I would like to say to you that I will never forget you, and I will always remember your teachings. I wish you the best and I hope to keep in touch with you in the future.

Finally, I would like to say that I found some friends and important people here. I will never forget the times we laugh about stupid things, and the times we did stupid things. Also, I will never forget when we stay doing homework for hours than we ended hating each others. People come and go, but true friends stay forever. I wish you the best because you deserve it, and I feel very glad to say that was very nice to met you.

Happy Halloween!

I think Halloween is an American and traditional holiday that we shouldn’t celebrate because it has nothing to do with our culture, but as we copy all it celebrates anyway. On the other hand, it is very funny to see your friends and kids all dressed up. The only think that I do not like is the famous phrase “trick or treat” because children take this seriously and throw eggs to houses if the owners do not give them candy. Beside, it is a good way to have fun with your beloved ones. Well, now I am going to tell you what are my plans to Halloween. It is very simple, as my boyfriend does not like to go out to parties, I am going to see horror movies with him at his house. We are going to eat a lot of stuffs: peanuts, chips, Snickers, snacks, etc. So, it is almost a romantic night; and to be honest, I rather to see movies with him than go out to some party. Lately, I do not feel like going out. I prefer to be at my bed watching T.V. or movies. I am a real granny. I just hope that this stage pass quickly. I do not know what else to tell you. I guess my sister will go out to Halloween and she will enjoy a party for me. I won’t go out looking for candies because I am a little bit to old for that, but I can buy it on my own and eat it anyway. To finish this, I wish you all a happy Halloween, enjoy yourselves, have fun and take care. If you drink do not drive please. And if you have a good horror movie to recommend, tell me. I accept all your suggestions.

A Place to Visit in Chile: Bahía Inglesa

Definitely, a place you should visit in Chile is Bahía Inglesa. It is a beautiful place that I visited when I was seven years old. As I do not remember much, here is a description according to a tourist web page. This bay is located 6 km south of Caldera, approximately 12 km in length. This is a seaside resort of national importance, where you will find services all year round for tourists. This place owes its name to an English corsair, Edward Davis, who arrived at these shores in 1687. The bay is characterized by its turquoise blue waters and white sand. In the southern sector you will find the beaches of Las Machas, Rocas Negras and Las Algas; and others kept in a state of natural beauty such as Chorrillos and Bahía Cisne. In the extreme north, Piscina beach stands out, surrounded by rocks, the space inside with coves suitable for swimming. You can reach Bahía Inglesa from Santiago to Copiapó by plane, public transport or car. The journey by plane from Santiago takes 1 hr 15 minutes, then you reach Caldera by road, 75 km from Copiapó. If you are coming by car from Copiapó to Bahía Inglesa along the Panamericana highway, you will find a turn off about 66 km along, which you need to take for 6 km until you reach the resort. In Bahía Inglesa you should visit: Playa La Piscina, Playa Las Machas, Playa Rocas Negras. I highly recommend this place if you want to relax and enjoy a peaceful time. Well, I am pretty sure you won’t regret visiting this place, and if you go someday I hope you enjoy it.

My Beliefs

Well I feel obligated to talk about my beliefs because it is a topic I do not like. The thing is that I do not believe in anything, I do not believe in God, I do not believe in ghosts, I do not believe in people because they can lie. So, as you can see, it is very difficult to write three hundred words about this. First of all, I do not believe in God because I refuse myself to believe in someone that creates diseases like cancer, children with disabilities, blindness, deafness, dumbness, etc. I think a person who does that is cruel. I say this because the Bible says that God is the creator of all that exists, although, I know we also are a little bit guilty of everything that happens. Second of all, I do not believe in ghosts because I have never seen one, simple as that. Although, I have heard so strange things in my house, but it could be anything, not necessary a ghost. But something that I do believe is to unfold because that happened to me. One day I was taking a nap when suddenly I was looking at myself and I tried to wake me up but I could not. I remember I was trying to lift me up but I could not because my body was so heavy. Then I enter to my body again and I woke up very scared. But that was not the only experience that I had, the second one was recently, I was taking a nap too, but this was terrible because I could not move my body, I remember that I tried to move my arms and legs but I could not, I tried for a long time when I fell asleep again, the I woke up very scared too. It seems that I believe in things that I saw; seeing is believing. Finally, I do not believe in people because they lie, and they lie a lot. During my short period of life I learned not to trust anyone, so no one can disappoint me.

Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is a series of young adult novels by Sara Shepard. The series follows the lives of four girls: Alison, the perfect yet manipulative queen bee; Aria, an independent girl who is considered to be the weirdo in Rosewood; Emily, a dedicated swimmer who is secretly in love with Alison; Hanna, who strives to be thin and popular like Alison; and Spencer, an ambitious girl who is constantly competing against and at odds with Alison. Alison mysteriously disappears during a sleepover with the girls the night their seventh grade school year ends. Three years later, the girls are no longer friends. Aria returns to Rosewood from a two and a half year trip to Iceland with her family and is much more sophisticated than she was when she left. She starts up a relationship with a man who turns out to be her AP English teacher. Emily become friend with the new girl in town, Maya, and soon develops romantic feelings for her. Hanna, Rosewood's new "it" girl, struggles with shoplifting and bulimia. Spencer continues to compete with Melissa, her perfect older sister. She falls for Melissa's new boyfriend, Wren Kim. Throughout the story, the girls receive messages from a person known as "A," who threatens to reveal their secrets of the present and past, including a horrible incident the girls refer to as "The Jenna Thing." They believe it is their missing friend, Alison, because she is the only one who knows all their secrets. However, they realize someone else is taunting them when the police find Ali's corpse buried in the backyard of her former house and think that it is Jenna who is "A". Well I choose this topic because I become obsessed with this series. Here in Latin America it’s aired by Boomerang and I never miss it. I highly recommend Pretty Little Liars, but you have to know that it’s a women’s series. If you watch it I hope you enjoy it.

homexual adoption

I'm against homosexual adoption because I think people isn't ready for accept something so different. I'm not against homosexuals, I think they can live their life whatever they want, but I think isn't fair that a child has to pay for something he didn't choose. I mean, gay people choose dealing with the consecuences for being different, they know other people could not accept the way gay live, but the child the adopt doesn't know that, this child will have to deal with other children bothering him for something he didn't choose. When people can be tolerant with others, gays can adopt. I'm not saying gays can't be parents or something like that, I'm just saying people isn't ready to accept a child that has two moms or two dads. And I guess there are some gays a little bit crazy out there because I read the news and I found an article that said: Homosexual couple changed her child sex because they didn't like the one he has, so when you read something like that it makes you wonder if homosexual adoption is a good idea. On the other hand, some heterosexual couples aren't good parents, they hit or humilliate they children and nobody make a strike for that. Teen pregnancy is something we have to about too because teen girls abort or give in adoption or keep the baby but not being ready for taking care of him. And people think this is "normal." Finally, I think we have to analize what is the best for the child, not the best for us, haven't we? We have to think in which society are we living in and adapt ourselves.

My First and Only Job Experience

It was around December of 2010 and as always I was very poor, and I was suffering because I didn’t have any money to the holidays, so my friend Evelyn told me that she had a part-time job as a waitress in an event. The job was from three p.m. to three a.m. and we had to prepare the event, attend all the people that was coming and after that, we had to clean everything. Everything was ok until the event started, It was an event of Banco de Chile I guess, it was a band playing and with them we had problems. I was looking around to find people needing me, when suddenly the band’s manager asked me to attend them personally. He told me that I had to bring them stuffs from the bar, and as I had no idea what to do, I asked Evelyn to go with me. When we got to the second floor, to the V.I.P. area, they humiliated us, they treated us like fools. The manager said hurry up! Clicking his fingers, so I got really mad, but I couldn’t say anything, so I went to talk with my boss, and he told me we didn’t have to do everything they ask us. He told us that the band’s manager wasn’t our boss. So as we had the support of our real boss, we didn’t listen the manager and the band said to us. After this disgusting episode, the night passed by very well. And believe it or not, I learned a lot with this experience. I learned that people can be very hateful, I learned how to be patience, and no to get angry easily, I learned how to be responsible. In short, I can say that the most important thing that I learned is I will never work as a waitress again! Because it is very difficult and people treat you bad, so for my next job I expect it to be as a translator.

School Trip to Brazil

I went to Brazil with all my classmates in 2006. We visited Foz de Iguazú, Camboriú, Blumenau and Florianópolis. It was the first time I traveled by plane, so I was very scared. The flight was fine, but with a little bit of turbulence and lasted five hours. When we finally got to Brazil, the first place we went was Foz de Iguazú. We went to Falls Galli hotel, but the funny thing was that we were the only ones! So we could enjoy the pool, the set price buffet and the gym to ourselves. We went to the waterfalls by motorboats, that was very exited because we were underneath the waterfalls, but of course the small ones. Later we flew to Blumenau, there we went to Water Play, which it a water park, to Francis Blu, which is a German village, and to the Museu da Cerveja. In Camboriú we went to several discotheques and beaches.

Well the thing is I don’t remember much of the trip because it has been five years since that. All that I have to say is I had an amazing time in Brazil, I enjoyed spending ten days with my friends in another country, far away of our parents and their rules, we could do everything we wanted, well we had the supervision of our teachers, but they weren’t very controlling. I recommend traveling to Brazil or any other country because it is an amazing experience. You can discover beautiful landscapes and people, another cultures and realities. And if you don’t want to travel abroad you can do it around Chile, our country also has beautiful places. Although traveling trough Chile it is a little bit more expensive people say it is worth doing it.
